Testimonials

These are some of the things that our patients are saying about our service at the Oxford ADHD & Autism Centre.

“I just wanted to email to say what a positive experience we had on Saturday for M’s assessment.  Could you please pass on our thanks to everyone, in particular Dr Haido Vlachos, she was fantastic with M and both myself and my husband. We feel that we are in great hands, it’s a relief after years of M feeling like a square peg in a round hole.  Thank you again.”

“I cannot recommend Francesca at the Oxford ADHD Centre highly enough! Working with her has truly been life-changing. Francesca helped me identify and break free from the negative thought patterns that had been holding me back, giving me the tools to understand and manage my ADHD in a way I never thought possible. Her empathetic and non-judgmental approach made me feel supported from day one, and I felt understood in a way I hadn’t experienced before. Francesca also provided invaluable guidance as I navigated the challenges of parenting my son, who also has ADHD.  Her thoughtful insights helped me rethink my approach and find a healthier balance between giving him space to grow and supporting him in ways that truly make a difference. I am now better equipped with practical strategies to reconnect with him and offer the right kind of support at the right time. Thanks to Francesca’s coaching, I feel more confident and empowered in both my personal journey and my role as a parent. She has made such a positive impact on our lives, and I am deeply grateful!”

“I just wanted to write a letter of thank you to all the amazing staff at your clinic. From the reception & office team, down to the clinical team, Jenny, Zoe, Rhiannon… you have all been incredible on this journey of diagnosis for my ADHD and I cannot thank you enough but I want to know how much of a difference you have made to my life & how much I appreciate it. I really appreciate the speediness from Rhiannon in terms of getting the care transferred over to my GP at my NHS practice – this has already been done and I am expecting my first NHS prescription to be collected this afternoon. Rhiannon provided so much insight, so much reassurance and just completely understood me. A credit to your staff. Your patience with my ongoing queries, advice, etc is commendable and I would recommend you over and over again.”

“Just to let you know, the process thus far has been so smooth and I genuinely feel that both my psychologist and psychiatry interviewers had my best interests at heart and were thorough and diligent during assessments. As a fellow health care worker I know good feedback can be rare.”

“I would like to that you for the excellent service and care you have provided for X and ourselves, from the friendly and supportive assessment, to the very thorough and professional report, to the medication reviews and excellent documentation sent to X’s GP. The professional documentation allowed X to have and to increase her medication in a safe and controlled manor, and have her diagnosis and medication requirement accepted by her NHS GP surgery. The service you provide is a lifeline to families who probably all reach out for help and assessment at the point they are most struggling to cope, only to find a horrendously long NHS waiting list. The thought of X having gone through all of her teenage and secondary school years, and even her GCSEs without diagnosis, support and treatment would have been awful and I believe destructive, leaving it’s effect on her long into her adulthood. I hope your clinicians recognise the difference that they make to the lives of their patients and their families.”

“I just wanted to let Dr McGregor know how pleased X is after her consultations and how much she respects her as a clinician and appreciates her advice and recommendations. I feel it has helped X immensely having the reviews and X is always so motivated before and after the sessions. Thank you all at the Oxford Centre, I doubt you realise how important your role has been in X’s acceptance of her diagnosis and the follow up care & medication support – thank you all!”

“I have just come back from an assessment with Dr Alison Lennox and want to say that she is fantastic. I felt so comfortable talking to her. She was informative, understanding and empathetic and I have come home feeling lighter of mind. Starting off a process to get yourself diagnosed at age 60 is not that easy, but it has been a thoroughly worthwhile experience. It’s quite emotionally draining, but equally,  it must take its toll on the assessors too. I appreciate the effort that you and your team have gone to to accommodate me and please pass my thanks on to both Claire Rowbury and Alison Lennox.”

“I would like to thank everyone at the Oxford Autism & ADHD Centre. We felt so lost at the start of the process of getting our brother assessed; there appeared to be few suitable options out there for us, the waiting lists were daunting, and it was hard to know where to turn.  In the end we contacted you, got onto the wait list, and after several months the assessments have finally taken place and we are so pleased that we chose Oxford Autism & ADHD Centre.  All the staff we have dealt with have been unfailingly professional, yet also very sensitive and empathetic. In particular I would like to give a special mention to Ferry Bayat for the pre-assessments, for helping set our brother at ease, and for her patience in getting as much information from him as she possibly could.  Also for Dr Lennox, who again paid so much attention to the detail, and so thoroughly examined his case, all the while with a great deal of empathy and understanding of him as an individual.  The assessments were thorough and detailed, and even if the results had not confirmed any condition we would have been satisfied that we could rule things out. In the end the outcome for us was a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD for our brother, which helps explain a life time of difficulties, and we hope this will help him access more support in future, and help us better understand his needs.  I would not hesitate to recommend your services to other families.”

“Thank you for all your kind words, we really appreciated being able to work together and in such a positive way to ensure the best outcome for X.  I’m so glad the family have you supporting them, with all of your expertise and compassion.  It genuinely was a positive meeting, being able to work together with your expertise.”  (From a school headteacher liaising with Katherine Rose, Educational Specialist.)

“We wanted to write and say thank you for all the hard and support we have received from the team at Oxford ADHD Centre for our son. You have all been absolutely superb! We’d particularly like to mention and thank Dr Carbonnier for the initial work / consultation and the follow up team – especially Sam Barry who has been very supportive, understanding and generally very lovely!  You really have made a huge difference to our son, but to our whole family and we want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  You’re making a huge difference to people’s lives.”

“Thank you so much for all your support and professional help over the last year and a half – if X had not been able to see you, he would have been very miserable and as it is he is having a much better time at school. A heartfelt thank you from both of us.”

“Could you pass on our thanks to Sarah for the session my husband and I attended. We both found it really useful, thought provoking but also reassuring. “

“I’d like to thank you for all you have done for J and for us as a family. Your service has been so valuable to us. I am so grateful that with your help, we have been able to help J so much earlier on in his journey than he would have been. It would have been much harder for him to catch up and be where he is now, should his diagnosis have been given later.
Thank you for all of your support and kindness.”

“Please pass on our thanks, both for the report and for making it such a painless process for L. She tells us she really enjoyed visiting your centre and playing games with the nice ladies.”

“I’d just like to share how appreciative we are of your clinic’s help, guidance and support. Not just thorough for all the services you provide, but most of all how easy you make it for us to access the information and support we need. Without which makes it impossible to support our children in the best way possible.  I also at the weekend, attended the invaluable parenting course which was so enlightening, providing an amazing array of ideas and strategies to help support us. Talking to the other parents I quickly realised how extremely lucky we are to have found your wonderful clinic so quickly in our journey.   By putting in place supportive strategies for X as quickly as possible will ultimately ensure a happier more fulfilled life. As a parent that’s all we really want for our children isn’t it, for them to be happy.  You made it incredibly easy for me to access the medication that really benefits X. Thank you again, something so simple means a whole lot more to us parents trying our best for our children.”
“I just want to say a quick thanks to the centre as a whole. Every staff member I’ve interacted with has been friendly and helpful; I tend to be overwhelmed with anxiety in medical situations but from my first phone call with the centre I felt reassured that I didn’t need to feel so anxious. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with the centre and I’m really grateful for the work you do!”

“I would like to say a very big thank you to you and all your team at Oxford ADHD Centre for your support over the last 18 months since L was diagnosed with ADHD. We found the appointments there to be helpful, professional and, above all, kind and compassionate to L and have appreciated the readiness of the clinic to provide reassurance, information and support both to us and the school. It has been great to have this support as we learnt how best to help L and to navigate through the procedures around access arrangements in school.”

“Dr Lennox is incredible at her job and it’s clear she’s passionate about helping people. Since receiving my diagnosis and starting treatment I really feel like my life is improving for the better and I’m extremely grateful that I’ve had such a positive experience with Dr Lennox and the Oxford ADHD and Autism Centre!”

I just wanted to say how pleased I am with our daughter’s diagnosis and medication.  She has just done really well in her exams and had the best feedback from her teachers at her recent parents’ meeting.   She is predicted good grades, some 9s, for her GCSEs which she sits next year. Not only is she happier but much more confident and motivated. I think the medication has made an enormous difference both for her and our family dynamic.
I thought this feedback might be useful for other parents about to embark on this journey.”

We cannot thank you enough for you help and the difference it has made to L’s life and ours! You were all absolutely amazing and we can’t thank you enough.

From a mother’s school regarding her daughter’s medication:

Just to inform you that I gave Dr X all the information you sent me from Oxford ADHD and Autism Centre.

I must say that she was as impressed as I was with the communication from them; it is by far the best communication I have had from any ADHD treatment centre regarding medication prescribing for pupils.

I would like to thank the team at the Oxford Clinic for their professionalism, support and understanding throughout H’s diagnosis and launch into treatment. I will be sure to recommend you to others, should the situation arise.

From a mother regarding her son:

He is extremely grateful, as are we his parents, to everyone at the centre. The medication has enabled him to turn his life around and has made a huge difference to his quality of life.

The dramatic improvement in F’s mood and behaviour since we first visited you in Oxford has made such a difference in his well being as well as ours as his parents.
I wanted to thank you for your support with F, not only at his appointments but also making the time to speak to me over the phone.
Please also convey my thanks to Dr Branney who also has been so supportive in the advice that she has given over the phone.

From a school SENCO:

Many thanks for another high-quality and informative report.

If only all our children with issues could have such a good service.

Please pass on our thanks to your colleagues.

From a school GP:

I’d like to thank you for all the work you and your colleagues have done for our pupils over the last 3-4 years. I’m the senior medical officer at X School. We’ve found the approach that you take at Oxford ADHD centre to be thorough and professional, and especially thank you for helping us to follow the NICE/CCG shared care processes. We find your service a breath of fresh air compared to many other private services we work with, and always recommend you to local families when asked.

“We wanted you [Polly], Tanya and your team to know how much we have appreciated your help over the years. When we first contacted you we were desperately concerned for E., and as a family we felt out of our depth. We could see the effect of his behaviour on his self esteem, his ability to form relationships with peers, and the daily trouble he was in with his teachers. We felt judged by other parents and were so sad for our son. Yourself and your team picked us up through your calm, professional, caring and reassuring attitude. We stopped feeling as though we were failing our child, and we quickly started to hope that this could get better, and it did. We no longer have that overwhelming sense of helplessness and isolation, and we are enjoying watching E. thrive and achieve now. He is a popular child which lots of enthusiasm and energy. We are so grateful to you all for all of your help, and for setting up this amazing clinic. We really hope you continue to go from strength to strength”.

“Having dreaded this assessment process we found it very positive, not least because we felt listened to; a rare treat in the world of special need. Our son went in happy and came out just the same way. Again our previous concerns completely unfounded.  Thank you again for this excellent and much needed service.”

“Many thanks for the report which arrived today. The service and kindness that we received from you and your colleagues was very much appreciated, not to mention the professionalism and expertise!”

“Thank you so much for the assessment yesterday. You put our daughter at ease and we feel you really got to grips with all the issues around her ADHD. We were impressed that you used several elements to the assessment (Conners, interview and psychometric testing). We especially valued the immediate feedback and providing the initial prescription. The process of contacting you and getting an appointment was extremely straightforward and slick and prompt. We would have no hesitation to recommend this service to others and would rate it as “Outstanding”.  Even our daughter said it wasn’t as bad as she thought!”

“We would  just like to say thank you – J. was extremely nervous as were we for his assessment, as we didn’t know what to expect, and anticipated lots of stress. You have a lovely clinic and fantastic staff so once again thank you.”

“I just wanted to write to thank you and the team for my assessment 2 weeks back. Both Emma and Tasos were incredibly thorough, quick to get the appointment and actually came out with a lot more than just a yes/no for the ASD which not only did I appreciate, but I wasn’t expecting. It definitely made me feel a bit more validated and like there could be a way to help me! Personally, it was a really great experience and I wanted to let you know so that you can pass my thanks onto the two.”

“I wanted to let you know that P. got 3 A-levels. We are thrilled for him and P. too was greatly relieved. I do not believe this would have been achievable without the medical intervention that he received on coming to the ADHD centre.  Thank you again for your professional and personal support.”

“We really appreciate the extra help and all the time and effort you’ve put in to the workshops, thank you because they were fantastic.  It was useful to gain an insight into the breadth of autism and also to meet other parents in similar situations to us.”

“I attended the second part of the autism workshops today. I just wanted to email to say thank you for organising this workshop and to tell you how helpful and reassuring I found it. Many thanks.”

“It was extremely helpful and felt quite an indulgence to have the ear and expertise of a neuro psychologist and consultant for several hours! Michael was extremely easy to talk to and very clear that our daughter met the criteria. Thank you so much and thank you for creating such a lovely relaxing environment, your staff members were extremely helpful and welcoming too. My daughter is obsessed with those stretchy men!! They were the highlight of the weekend!”

“I’m surprised, a little shocked (to receive the diagnosis so soon), and a little shaken but at the same time strangely relieved that we finally have a diagnosis. Thank you so much, now we know what we are dealing with we will endeavour to do everything in our power to help our son deal with his troubles and support him in every way we can.  Thank you for your help, time and especially for showing our son that there really are some very nice people in this world outside of our family! We are very happy with the report and feel you’ve got our little boy down to a T.”

“We would like to thank you both very much for all of your work before, during and after our daughter’s assessment day. We had been worried about it for so long, but you both put us all at ease immediately and it was so fantastic to find such ready and sympathetic ears! For our daughter too, the day was calm, happy and stress-free and this was all we could have wanted. Many, many thanks!”

“Your approach with our son was fantastic and he obviously felt at ease with you both, as did we. An emotionally exhausting day for the three of us and I think it will take some time for us to actually accept that we now have a diagnoses and work out what we do moving forward. But, at least we now have the ability to do this, so thank you so very much for your time, compassion and above all your understanding.”

“I just wanted to say thank you for seeing us on Saturday. I was quite anxious about how our son would cope on the day but I could see how relaxed he was because you were all so kind with him”

“I do think that you have an amazing and valuable set up and would recommend anyone who thinks their child has ADHD to come to you. My main reason for saying this is because of the way you have handled us in a very professional, but compassionate way. You have always answered my calls and questions. You have made the whole process easy to access and to deal with and I am really grateful”

“I can’t thank you and Dr Galanopoulos enough – you really have been amazing!”

“I just wanted to say how pleased we all were to get a diagnosis on Saturday, and how impressed we were by the way in which we were treated, so thank you to all of you.You have done a wonderful thing to get the centre up and running. I know it must have been much hard work, and years in the making”

“Thank you so much for all your support. It makes a real difference”

“After my initial e-mail to the centre, the communication was timely and extremely helpful. You answered all my questions and explained which assessment might be best for us. We felt very welcomed when we arrived on Saturday…..Dr Absoud was extremely patient with me and was great at explaining questions that I didn’t understand – it felt more like a conversation than a set of questions which was good.It didn’t feel rushed and I have to say that I definitely felt listened to.
Dr Baulcomb was really good with our son and kept him engaged. He warmed to her as she was so kind with him and asked questions in a clear way.
Although it was very difficult to hear that our son did meet the criteria for ASD, it was explained in terms of areas of strengths and weaknesses which made a lot of sense.
Dr Absoud and Dr Baulcomb were encouraging, positive and objective which is exactly why we wanted our son to have his assessment with experts like themselves. I feel grateful that we have had such a thorough assessment”

I am grateful that your organisation was there for us and that Michael and Jennifer gave our son such a warm and enjoyable experience.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude and thanks to Dr Galanopoulos and yourself for the support, time, patience and kindness that has been extended to my mother and myself. Your input and diagnosis (which I must admit I was sceptical about at first) has enabled a large positive change within my work and personal life for which I am eternally grateful.”

“I wanted to say how lovely I thought you were on Saturday. It is not often that you find someone really human running a business. I hope that you continue to thrive.”

I would like to take the time to thank Dr Alison Lennox. She was a real pleasure to be assessed by and made the meeting feel relaxed yet remain professional. She was really considerate to the symptoms I was facing which led me to the assessment and although the outcome was that I was not diagnosed with ADHD, she made me feel as though the route I took wasn’t an unwise choice to investigate which in effect relaxed me throughout the whole assessment. I would really like to thank her for her time and could you pass my high praise of her to those who should see this. It was a pleasurable experience during a time that could of been quite stressful. “

“I just wanted to thank you all for your support- it was an easy process to register with you and have my appointment when one was available, I have picked up my first prescription today.”
